 46th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, Eglin Air Force Base, Florida The motto of the 46th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron Crusaders, “Libertatem Defendamus,” means “Maintaining Freedom.” The patch consists of two significant elements. The first is the mounted crusader who has a passion for his or her mission. This crusader represents our men and women who have dedicated their lives to maintaining our freedom. The second element is the crossed wrenches used to represent the tools of our trade used in maintaining that freedom. The red and the blue signify the two distinct units within our squadron working together to execute our mission.
